What does a FHIR consultant do?

A FHIR consultant translates a clinical, payer, or product workflow into a concrete FHIR design: the resources and profiles required, the authorization model, conformance evidence, and the operational plan for running the API. The work also covers where FHIR is the wrong tool and HL7 v2 or bulk export fits better.

Do you implement, or only advise?

Both. Some engagements are an assessment and a written recommendation. Others continue into design, implementation support, testing, and go-live support alongside your team or your vendor.
